In
addition to her music for adults, JC Lodge has been inspired since the
birth of her daughter Gia in 1994, to write original children's songs.
Her children's music has been created to impart values and core curriculum knowledge to children in a fun-filled way. Ranging from simple counting and spelling for the littlest ones, right up to manners and environmental awareness for pre-teens she has employed a variety of rhythms and styles to appeal to kids everywhere. Out of this effort came 2 cassette albums of children's songs (with the third on the way) called "Sing 'n' Learn". These cassettes were so well received in Jamaica that the Ministry of Education ordered a copy for every Basic School in the island. Additionally JC and Manager/Producer Errol O'Meally were invited by the National TV Station in Jamaica to produce a 13-part children's television series in 2000, which they called "Sing 'n' Learn". This was a very innovative and successful production which won awards from the Press Association of Jamaica and also the Caribbean Broadcasting Union. |
